September Update

I'm in the throes of Orientation Week here at Berklee, but I wanted to give a few updates:

1. I never thought I'd live in a place with crazier weather than Texas, but yesterday was hot and cloudless, today is in the 60s and grayer than graphite. I'm bracing myself...

2. Despite the drastic weather, I am falling more in love with this wonderful, charming city all the time. I've explored a little bit, but there's still so much to do and see. Coming from a very "West Coast" background, I was naively afraid of finding the brisk New Englander stereotype to be true. I've never been so happy to be wrong. People here are kind and polite (if you're kind and polite to them of course). Just don't wear a Yankees hat if you value your life.

3. I'm already feeling inspired by the incredibly talented musicians at Berklee. Classes officially start next week, and I am excited beyond measure. With my elementary music theory knowledge and skills (lol sheet music), I know this semester will be a challenge. But I also know that overcoming that hurdle will feel incredible and make me a better, more well-rounded musician. And really, that's my whole mission in being here.

So that's all for now, folks! I'm going to go pretend to be a responsible young adult and do laundry or something.

Peace, love, and if your school year is just beginning as well, GOOD LUCK! :)

xo Kathryn

P.S. If you haven't already, you can download a version of Bide My Time which I recorded while I was in England. FOR FREE! Just go to the "Music" tab and scroll down :)
